Haras Fyre Graf von Growlocks enjoys his 40th year as a songwriter & publisher with the USA's Broadcast Music Incorporated. Through BMI's international agreements, the Graf is connected to every Performing Rights Society (PRO) in the world. However, he is especially proud of being an associate member of FILSCAP (PRO in the Republic of the Philippines which Haras calls "Melody Heaven") and SUISA (PRO in Haras' home country of Switzerland). Clicking on the logos above will open new windows to each respective website.

Occasionally, people ask Haras, "Did you really write "This Time I'll Be Sweeter???" Well, somebody had to write it... Please look at song number 53 after you click on this  BMI logo. If you prefer, you may independently go to www.bmi.com and search for 'songwriter/composer' 'Fyre Haras' to see "This Time I'll Be Sweeter" on Haras' partial list of published songs. Afterwards, please click on the photo of Angela Bofill's CD to see more CDs with Haras Fyre songs on them. By the way: Angela's version was NOT the first; it was the fifth recording of "This Time I'll Be Sweeter" but is the closest to Haras Fyre's original demo version so far.

Why "Mabuhay?" The word 'Mabuhay' greatly conveys that which is emotional, optimistic, caring, humble and friendly. In friendliness there is sharing. Shared pleasure lives longer; we always see friends & family joyfully repeating the same stories of shared pleasures for years. If that shared pleasure is music, then: Long Live Music! Mabuhay Music!

Carlos Santana, Sharon Cuneta, Ben E. King, Rachel Ann Go, Roberta Flack, Angela Bofill, Deniece Williams, Kyla, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Macy Gray, Gary Glitter, Sister Sledge, Will Downing and more of Haras Fyre's songs on Billboard's International Top 100 Charts shows Haras has indeed done some sharing.

The Graf's music also appears internationally on television and on cinema soundtracks for productions such as "Addams Family," "Notorious B.I.G.," Sharon Cuneta's "Friends," "Very Bad Things" as well as in advertising commercials for companies such as America's "AT&T," "Amtrak" and more. Click on the blue square to see a Trade Fair Handout Recording of the first advertising jingle written by Haras pka Patrick Grant, which he wrote with (then girlfriend) Gwen Guthrie  for America's "AT&T."

The AT&T touring & recording band consisted of:

  • Gwen Guthrie, vocals; (Mick Jagger, Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Peter Tosh)
  • Jimmie Young, drums; (Frank Sinatra's " Theme from New York New York," Barry Manilow's "Mandy," Engelbert Humperdink's "After the Lovin' ")
  • Rudy Stevenson, guitar; (guitarist/songwriter/musical tour director for Nina Simone, "5th [ Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In ] Dimension,")
  • Bert DeCoteaux, piano; (Motown producer/arranger for Diana Ross, Martha Reeves, Temptations)
  • Haras pka Patrick Grant, bass

Playing together with these First-Call A-List musical giants, Haras felt he was living a dream. Haras also regularly played bass in a trio with "Weather Report" studio drummer Herschel Dwellingham together with jazz pianist Nat Adderley, Jr., and with "The Drifters" ("Under the Boardwalk," "Up On The Roof").

As member of "The American Guild of Authors and Composers" (now "Songwriter's Guild of America,") Haras gave songwriting & performance instruction in his office in New York City's "Brill Building"  on Broadway. There he also taught Broadway actors & actresses the critical difference between performing 'in safety up there with fellow actors' vs. 'entertaining all alone with neither stimulus nor security of fellow artists being onstage.' Haras' partners were Marion Ramsey  (of "Police Academy" fame as "Sgt. Hooks") and "Fleming Williams†" (who sang the hit "Rock The Boat" with the "Hues Corporation").

Haras on teaching: No matter how successful an idea may have been in the past, all parties must study to find if the idea is useful in the present. During that moment of re-examination, the teacher and the student are both students.

Soft Pop, Hard Rock, Theatre Musicals, R&B; The Graf has enjoyed sharing his music around the world as a composer and multi-instrumentalist for 40 years. However, Haras is ultimately hungry to continue learning and believes that to share is to experience & learn anew.

Haras - with his internationally diverse team of writers, entertainers, singers and musicians - welcomes you to join the never-ending thrill found through sharing the offerings of Mabuhay Music. Long live music!

Neighborhood secrets.People living in a neighborhood have useful 'inside information' about their home community which a visitor simply could not know or even guess, no matter how clever the visitor may be. This is also true regarding the inside information of a 'music community.' Filipino singer Charice Pempengco's timeline can reveal the neighborhood networking activity done by Mabuhay Music's Haras Fyre before Charice made her first trip to the USA:
  1. Before Charice set foot in the USA, Haras Fyre saw Charice on YouTube and personally gathered information about her from Dave "FalseVoice" Dueñas (the person who posted Charice's videos online).
  2. Haras Fyre then discussed Charice with New York music attorney Ed Shapiro of "Grubman, Indursky & Shire," which is one of the music business' most powerful management/legal companies. Why them? Because Haras is even more to them than just a 'musical neighbor;' Haras lives in the same house, so to speak, for years. How so? "Grubman, Indursky & Shire" handles "This Time I'll be Sweeter" (and 50+ more Haras Fyre songs). Haras discussed publishing issues with attorney Stuart Prager, then simply spoke further on with Ed Shapiro regarding Charice (neighbors speak on the street; house dwellers speak from room to room).
  3. Charice-fire starting burning and Ed Shapiro got updated Charice-information directly from "FalseVoice."
  4. When Charice finally arrived in New York at Ellen DeGeneres' invitation, "Grubman, Indursky & Shire" unanimously agreed with Haras' earlier recommendation, whereupon they took Charice into the same 'musical neighborhood' company representing "This Time I'll Be Sweeter," Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Puff Daddy, the TV/cinema cartoon character "Felix the Cat" and a few other neighborhood notables
Mabuhay Music believes you should never forget your roots but, if you would like to live in the 'international musical neighborhood,' we would be quite happy to show you around.
